Model Range & Availability
Are there variations of SimpleDrop? No. It is a single model without sub-versions. A skylight and a second door can be added as options.
What do X-Line versions (Base / Comfort / Premium) mean? These represent different equipment levels and design nuances (storage box, suspension, wheels). The core body is similar, while the difference lies in comfort and off-road capability packages.
Is X-Line Base the minimum entry point? Yes. It is the simplest X-Line version, providing a rugged body and foundation that can be upgraded with options.
Which models are no longer active? X-Line Hunter is currently not in production or the active price list, but it can be custom-made upon request.
Visual Differences & Construction
X-Line vs. SimpleDrop visually? They have different bodies, geometry, coatings, and materials. Everything differs from hardware to wheels and overall structural "armoring."
SteelDrop vs. X-Line externally? SteelDrop has a teardrop shape and stainless steel cladding. X-Line is an off-road body with LineX coating and expeditionary geometry.
How to distinguish X-Line versions externally? The easiest way is the tongue box. Base has none, Premium has a large top-opening box with lighting, and Comfort has a smaller box with side hatches.
Materials & Coatings
What is SimpleDrop made of? Standard plywood. The interior has a natural "woody" look (varnished), while the exterior is covered with a Norwegian membrane coating.
What are X-Line and SteelDrop made of? X-Line is made of French plywood with a two-component LineX coating. SteelDrop is also built to X-Line material standards but is clad in stainless steel sheets.
What is the Norwegian membrane in SimpleDrop? A durable coating used in roofing solutions, providing protection and endurance for the budget model.
Suspension, Off-road Capability, & Wheels
SimpleDrop suspension? Features a basic AL-KO braked suspension.
Suspension difference between X-Line Base and Comfort? Base uses AL-KO torsion axles; Comfort uses KNOTT torsion axles. KNOTT is considered slightly more capable for off-roading.
Premium wheels? X-Line Premium features 15-inch alloy rims and aggressive mud-terrain tires. Simpler versions come with basic wheels.
Kitchen & Base Equipment
What's in the kitchen base? SimpleDrop and X-Line usually include a stainless steel sink with an electric faucet, plus space for a fridge and a stove.
Is a stove included? For most models, it's an option, but in X-Line Premium, the stove is included in the base price.
Is a fridge included? No. The refrigerator is an additional option for all models.
Sleeping Area, Mattress, & Ventilation
SimpleDrop sleeping area size? Mattress space: 1.4 m x 1.98 m. The mattress is not included and is purchased separately.
Are mattress and slats included in X-Line? No. Both mattress and slats are separate options.
Can I add a skylight / mosquito nets / extra doors? Yes, these can be installed as options: skylight, second door, mosquito nets (depending on the model).
Storage Boxes & Cargo
Can a box be mounted on X-Line Base? Technically, yes (especially on 2023+ models). Typically, the drawbar basket is removed and replaced with a storage box.
Comfort vs. Premium storage box? Comfort is smaller with side hatches and no top lid. Premium is larger, top-opening, and has interior lighting.
Winter Options & Retrofitting
Can I install Webasto? Yes, in the X-Line. Webasto is not installed in SimpleDrop due to lack of space.
Why plan options early? Some features are difficult or expensive to retrofit (e.g., Webasto preparation).
Special X-Line Versions
What is X-Line Moto? A version for motorcyclists: features a mount for bikes (up to 120 kg), plus a portable washer and a roof rack.
Why a washer in X-Line Moto? Motocross/enduro bikes often get muddy — quickly rinsing the bike after a ride is a practical necessity.
What is X-Line Black Edition? A Premium X-Line in a full black finish: black rails, rims, and fenders.
Maintenance & Care
How to care for the camper? Wash with car shampoo; high-pressure touchless washing is fine. Periodically check seals, hardware, and water systems.
